Hi, my name is Erica and I like to help young, single moms and dads to successfully take those first steps into the realm of serious adulting that society likes to call parenting.
I would like to help you to not go through single parenting without a plan, feeling alone or lost. I remember what it was like to have to dive in, sink or swim (mostly sinking). My goal here is to keep you from getting all pruny in that feeling.
While blessed with a wonderful family and the best of friends, most were working full-time and had their own stuff going on. Feeling alone makes things harder, so I wanted to create a place of support for people that find themselves where I started.
I am really good at meal planning, stretching a dollar, and being as real as I can with my struggles. I don’t have it all figured out. Nobody does! Single parenting made me scrappy, though, and I want to share that with you.
Since you’re here, I already consider you a new friend. Welcome, friend. Here are some random things about me.
- I was born in Kentucky
- I love pizza.
- My 5th grade teacher was convinced I’d be a great writer one day. (I’m not convinced this is what she expected. LOL)
- The ocean and I have a love-hate relationship. I love the ocean, but I hate the burns I get in return for visiting.
- I’m that parent that once walked my son into the school dressed in polka-dot pajamas, fuzzy slippers, and disheveled hair because he faked being sick to skip school. (I’d recently had surgery. That wasn’t a normal thing.) Never had that problem again! ๐
- Murder mysteries are my favorite!
- I started singing karaoke in a local dive when I was 15 years old. (It was across from the skating rink – where I was supposed to be.)
- My family is everything to me.
- My daughter and first grandbaby are living with me right now and I’m loving it.
- I placed 1st at regionals and 2nd at state in the Future Business Leaders Accounting competition in high school. (Who doesn’t love competitions, right?)
Anyway, welcome. I’m glad you’re here. Stay a while. ๐
